Man experiences health decline after skipping dinner to lower cholesterol

A 62-year-old man in China, identified as Mr. Truong, reported a decline in health after skipping dinner for six months in an attempt to manage high blood lipids and atherosclerosis. Despite previously stabilizing his condition through medication and dietary adjustments, his recent medical examination revealed that his blood lipid levels did not decrease and his atherosclerosis did not improve.

In addition to the lack of progress in his primary condition, the man developed stomach ulcers. Medical professionals noted that skipping meals can disrupt medication schedules and reduce treatment efficacy.

Research from the University of Iowa and the University of Tennessee suggests that skipping any meal can increase mortality risks. Specifically, skipping breakfast is linked to higher cardiovascular mortality, while skipping lunch or dinner is associated with an increased risk of death from all causes.
