Man faces legal proceedings in Kanasín for alleged failure to pay child support

Marco Antonio A. P. has been charged by the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) for the alleged failure to fulfill family assistance obligations in Kanasín. The charges follow a complaint from his former partner regarding unpaid child support for their minor daughter.

According to court records, the parties were married and established a temporary monthly payment of 1,600 pesos during divorce proceedings in 2019. In 2024, the required amount was increased to 3,880 pesos. The complainant reported that these obligations were not being met, leading to the current criminal process.

During the initial hearing at the Kanasín Oral Justice Center, the defendant requested that his legal status be resolved within the constitutional timeframe. A judge has granted a recess to determine if there are sufficient elements to formally link him to the process. While the legal situation is being resolved, the court has imposed several precautionary measures, including periodic check-ins with authorities, an economic guarantee, and a prohibition on leaving the state without judicial authorization.
