Córdoba authorities investigate possible femicide of Daniela Villalba

Authorities in Córdoba, Argentina, are investigating the death of 28-year-old Daniela Villalba as a suspected femicide. The investigation was triggered after waste collectors discovered a suitcase containing bloodstained clothing, a wig, and identification belonging to Villalba in a trash container near the Cofico neighborhood.

Police located Villalba’s body in her apartment on Boulevard Las Heras, where she was found on her bed with stab wounds to her neck and arms. Investigators noted that the apartment appeared orderly, though her cell phone was missing. A friend had previously reported her missing after Villalba sent a message requesting help.

Prosecutor Pablo Camacho is leading the inquiry. Surveillance footage from the building shows a tall man with a cap and long hair entering and exiting the premises, and authorities are currently working to identify him. Villalba had moved to the apartment approximately three weeks ago and leaves behind a 10-year-old child.
