Man Group and Meiji Yasuda Life expand strategic partnership

Man Group and Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company have expanded their strategic partnership, with the Japanese insurer planning to increase its capital commitment to approximately 200 billion yen (roughly $1.25 billion) over the next three years. The collaboration will focus heavily on private credit and the co-development of new investment products tailored for the Japanese market.

As part of the expanded agreement, Meiji Yasuda is considering acquiring an approximately 5 percent equity stake in Man Group through open-market purchases. This acquisition would not involve the issuance of new shares and would be subject to a three-year lock-up period. Meiji Yasuda is also restricted from acquiring more than 19.99 percent of Man Group’s issued share capital.

The partnership includes access to Man Group’s expertise in quantitative investment management, artificial intelligence, and private assets, as well as investment advisory services through the Oxford-Man Institute.
