Man Group, the world’s largest publicly traded hedge fund firm, reported a record $270.9 billion in assets under management (AUM) for the third quarter ending September 30. This represents a nearly 7% increase from $253.6 billion at the end of June.
The growth was driven by $10.1 billion in net inflows, significantly exceeding analyst expectations of $3.8 billion. These inflows were distributed across alternative investment strategies ($1.9 billion) and long-only products ($8.2 billion). Additionally, investment performance contributed $5.9 billion to the total increase.
Following these results, Peel Hunt confirmed a buy recommendation for the London-based investment manager with a price target of 350 pence. The firm's systematic and liquid alternative strategies, including the AHL Alpha and AHL Dimension funds, recorded positive returns during the quarter despite market volatility.
