Man imprisoned in Sicily for stalking and threatening ex-wife

A 38-year-old man from Palma di Montechiaro has been imprisoned following an escalation of threats and stalking directed at his ex-wife in Licata, Italy. The man is under investigation for domestic abuse and persecutory acts.

According to investigators, the situation deteriorated after the man learned his ex-wife had entered a new relationship. He allegedly began loitering near her home, sending aggressive messages, and threatening to disfigure her face. In some instances, these intimidations were reportedly conveyed through the couple's minor children.

Although the man was previously under a judicial order to stay away from the victim via an anti-stalking electronic bracelet, he allegedly violated these restrictions and continued his persecutory behavior. Following the violation and an assessment of his dangerousness, judicial authorities revoked his non-custodial measures and ordered his immediate imprisonment.
