Man in his 40s gravely injured in stabbing in Francofonte, Sicily

A 47‑year‑old man was found severely wounded in a narrow alley off Via Roma in the historic centre of Francofonte, Sicily. Police say the victim, known to have drug‑dependence issues and minor offences, suffered abdominal and other critical stab wounds after a dispute erupted in a rundown ground‑floor flat where his partner occasionally worked as a prostitute. Investigators also identified a 90‑year‑old repeat offender, a regular client of the woman, who had recently been pressured for money by the couple. The carabinieri, local police and forensic teams secured the scene while the victim remains in critical condition.
