Man killed and two children injured in Minnesota tractor rollover
A 48-year-old man was killed and two children were seriously injured following a tractor rollover in rural Wells, Minnesota, on September 1.
Timothy Glen Steinborn of Walters was operating an Oliver 770 tractor near the intersection of 570th Avenue and 108th Street when the vehicle entered a steep east ditch at an incorrect angle and overturned. Steinborn was declared deceased at the scene.
Two children, aged 8 and 10, were trapped beneath the tractor and required extrication by emergency responders. Both children suffered suspected serious injuries. The 10-year-old was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to Mayo Clinic Health System – St. Mary’s in Rochester, while the 8-year-old was airlifted directly from the scene to the same facility.
The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash with assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol.
