Man killed during robbery attempt in Kibra, Nairobi

A 49-year-old man, Jacob Odhiambo Alube, was stabbed to death during a robbery in the Lindi area of Kibra, Nairobi, early Friday morning. The incident occurred around 5:30 am as Alube was heading to work.

According to police reports, Alube was attacked by a gang that targeted his valuables, including his mobile phone. The confrontation turned fatal when Alube reportedly attempted to resist the robbery. Officers from Kibera Police Station arrived at the scene to find the victim deceased, with bloodstains suggesting a struggle had taken place.

Detectives and Nairobi Region Scenes of Crime personnel processed the area for evidence. Investigators recovered a toy pistol near the scene, which has been secured as an exhibit. Alube’s body was moved to the Nairobi Funeral Home pending a post-mortem examination as police continue to pursue leads to identify the suspects.
