Man killed in Viterbo after being crushed by car during tire change

A 44-year-old man, identified as Mohamed Mezni, died in Grotte Santo Stefano, in the province of Viterbo, after being crushed by his vehicle while changing tires. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 29.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the car may have suddenly dropped, possibly due to the failure or displacement of the jack used to lift the vehicle. Mezni became trapped under the chassis, and despite efforts by firefighters to extract him and medical personnel to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The local Carabinieri have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and to assess if there are any legal responsibilities regarding the equipment failure.
