MAN Niepołomicach workers threaten strike over lower bonuses

Employees of the MAN Truck & Bus plant in Niepołomicach, south of Kraków, are preparing a collective dispute and have not ruled out a strike. They complain that the annual bonus offered in Poland – 1,500 zł gross – is far below the 1,632 euros (about 7,000 zł) paid to colleagues in German MAN factories.

The Polish crew points out that they produce roughly 105 vehicles per shift, compared with about 40 in Germany, and argue that the pay gap is unjustified. Union representatives are drafting a protocol of discrepancies and are demanding the bonus be raised to 5,000 zł. MAN officials say bonus levels are adjusted to each country’s wage structure.

Meanwhile, MAN announced a 2.5 billion‑zł investment in Poland, including the start of production of the fully electric eTGL truck at the Niepołomicach site later this year and the creation of hundreds of new jobs.
