Man Ray retrospectives announced at Italian institutions

Major Italian cultural institutions are hosting significant retrospectives dedicated to the American Surrealist artist Man Ray.

At Palazzo Roverella, a monographic exhibition will run from November 13 to January 31, 2027. This event, supported by Fondazione Cariparo, aims to highlight the artist's influence on 20th-century photography and visual language. The exhibition is part of a new biennial program designed to strengthen the institution's role in the European exhibition landscape.

Simultaneously, the Fondazione Magnani-Rocca in Traversolo is presenting a large-scale retrospective from September 12 to December 13, 2026. Marking fifty years since his death, the exhibition features over 250 works, including paintings, sculptures, designs, and films, to demonstrate Man Ray's multidisciplinary approach. The collection traces his journey from his early American years through his pivotal involvement with the Dadaist and Surrealist movements in Paris.
