Man searches for brother in Colombia after losing family in Venezuela earthquake

David José Villarreal, a Venezuelan man, is searching for his brother, Dayron José Villarreal, among the rubble in Pereira, Colombia, following a 7.4 magnitude earthquake on August 10.

This follows a separate tragedy in La Guaira, Venezuela, on June 24, where an earthquake caused the collapse of Villarreal's home, resulting in the deaths of his wife and two daughters.

After losing his family and home in Venezuela, Villarreal traveled over 800 kilometers to Colombia to locate his 56-year-old brother, a mason who disappeared after his residence in the Parque de la Libertad sector collapsed. Villarreal has requested assistance from local authorities and migration services to find his brother and has expressed a need for psychological support to cope with the consecutive losses.
