Man sells New York 'trash' from Taylor Swift wedding for $1,250

Collector Justin Gignac gathered discarded items from the sidewalk outside Madison Square Garden on the night of Taylor Swift's wedding. He packaged the objects as "lixo da cidade de Nova York" (New York city trash) and offered 50 numbered units at $25 each. All units sold within 24 hours, earning about US$1,250 (R$6,400). Gignac said the pieces were likely street debris, not wedding leftovers, but marketed them as a symbolic time capsule of the high‑profile event.

The venture attracted buyers from various countries, highlighting the commercial curiosity surrounding celebrity events.
