Man sentenced to 80 years for raping stepdaughters in Brazil

A man has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for the long-term sexual abuse of his two stepdaughters in Glória de Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul. The crimes against the first victim began in 2007 when she was seven years old and continued until she was 16. The second victim was abused starting in 2012 at age nine, with the violence continuing until she reached adulthood.

The perpetrator reportedly used threats of violence against the victims, their mother, and their siblings to ensure silence. While the defendant claimed the accusations were false and attributed his behavior to psychiatric issues and alcohol, the court found the victims' testimonies to be consistent with police reports, social assistance documents, and witness statements. The judge issued four separate 20-year sentences.
