Man shot dead during rural event in São José do Xingu

Cleison Souza Nunes, 44, was shot and killed during a drum trial event at a rural property in the Santo Antônio do Fontoura district of São José do Xingu. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday at the Rancho Leal property.

Witnesses reported that the victim was near a vehicle with sound equipment and had previously been warned to lower the volume. The suspected perpetrator, identified by witnesses as the event organizer and property owner, allegedly shot Nunes approximately five times in the back before fleeing the scene. While the suspect fled, his vehicle remained at the property. Local police have isolated the area for investigation by the Civil Police and forensic teams.
