Man Struck by Vehicle While Fleeing ICE in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ

A man who was running from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents was hit by a vehicle on Route 35 near the Point Pleasant Beach train station on Friday morning. Police said the victim suffered non‑life‑threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The Point Pleasant Beach Police Department clarified that its officers were not involved in the ICE apprehension until the crash occurred.

New Jersey Assemblyman Paul Kanitra used the incident to criticize Governor Mikie Sherrill’s sanctuary policies, suggesting they do not prevent deportations and urging the public to consider self‑deportation offers. ICE did not comment on the incident.
