Man survives brutal bear attack in Russian taiga
Viktor Seligejev survived a brutal attack by a female bear while gathering pine cones in the Russian taiga. The animal, estimated to weigh approximately 200 kilograms, attacked him after he attempted to hide behind a tree.
The attack resulted in catastrophic injuries, including more than ten fractures in his arm, broken ribs, and severe facial trauma. Seligejev reported that the bear crushed his nose, tore the skin from his face, and completely tore away his upper jaw.
Despite the severity of his wounds, Seligejev managed to stand up and walk approximately 1.5 kilometers to reach his friends for help. Medical professionals later noted that he was fortunate the bear did not puncture his skull.
