MAN Truck & Bus restructures TGE camper van portfolio

MAN Truck & Bus is restructuring its TGE transporter portfolio for the recreational vehicle market, as presented at the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf. The MAN Business Unit Van has organized its offerings into three distinct categories: fully built vehicles ready for use from the factory, prefabricated base vehicles designed for individual self-conversion, and chassis intended for professional motorhome manufacturers and bodybuilders.

To demonstrate these new segments, the company is showcasing two specific configurations. The first is a front-wheel-drive MAN TGE 3.160 4x2 featuring the new ‘KombiFree-Paket’. This package is designed for customers seeking a daily vehicle with integrated camping functionality, including a flexible floor system with airline rails, a folding three-seat bench with a reclining function, interior insulation, and integrated sound systems.

The second vehicle is an all-wheel-drive MAN TGE 3.190 4x4 van equipped with factory preparations for motorhome conversion. Both showcased models feature an innovative pop-up roof developed by supplier Reimo, which can be operated manually or electrically to increase interior standing height. For self-builders and commercial manufacturers, the TGE offers cargo volumes of up to 18.4 cubic meters and specific ‘Basisfahrzeug Camper Van’ options including air suspension and secondary batteries.
