Man wounded in Alajuelita shooting under investigation

A 30-year-old man was shot and wounded on a motorcycle in Los Filtros, Alajuelita, San José. According to preliminary reports, two men on another motorcycle intercepted the victim and fired multiple shots, hitting him in the chest, both shoulders, and his left leg. The suspects fled the scene, and the victim was transported to Hospital San Juan de Dios by the Costa Rican Red Cross.

The Judicial Investigation Body (OIJ) is investigating the attack, noting a possible connection to a recent double homicide in San Rafael Arriba de Desamparados. In that previous incident, a 24-year-old pregnant woman and an 18-year-old woman were killed. Authorities believe the wounded man may be a person of interest in that investigation, though no definitive link has been established.
