Manía theater company to perform ‘Dutxa’ at La Rambleta

The Valencian theater company Manía will present its new production, ‘Dutxa’, at La Rambleta on October 23 and 24. The play is part of the Muestra de Teatro Emergente and the Academia de Espectadores.

The story follows a protagonist who, after slipping in a shower, enters a state of semi-consciousness between life and death. This experience triggers a comedic journey through crucial memories, prompting reflections on life choices, the rush of modern society, and the importance of pausing to evaluate what truly matters.

A unique aspect of the production is its staging: while the script remains unchanged, the gender of the protagonist alternates between Nelo and Nela in different performances. This approach is intended to demonstrate how the interpretation of a discourse can shift depending on who portrays it.
