Manado Immigration Delays 24 Indonesian Migrant Departures Over Trafficking Risks

The Manado Immigration Office (Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I TPI Manado), led by Alimuddin, has postponed the overseas travel of 24 Indonesian migrant workers identified as potentially non‑procedural or at high risk of becoming victims of human trafficking (TPPO). The suspensions will remain in effect until July 2026.

Alimuddin said the measure is a preventive step to protect workers, not a blanket travel restriction, and stressed that the office will continue to intensify monitoring, risk‑based inspections, public education and coordination with relevant agencies. The office pledged to enhance immigration checks with a professional, humane, and risk‑analysis approach, urging Indonesians seeking work abroad to use official channels and comply with all regulations.
