Manado police arrest youth after fatal altercation with elderly man

An 18-year-old man, identified as FA, has been detained by Manado police following a fatal altercation with a 69-year-old man in the Mahakeret Timur district.

The incident reportedly began due to a dispute involving leaf waste and a commercial shop (ruko). According to the suspect, the victim, known as Opa Nicky, had been intimidating him by demonstrating what he claimed was immunity to sharp weapons, which included cutting his own arm and tongue.

During the confrontation, FA pushed the victim to the ground and struck him twice in the face. Although the victim was rushed to a hospital, he later passed away. Police have secured the suspect for further investigation.
