Management challenges in Poland: Bureaucracy and interim solutions
A study commissioned by Factorial reveals that excessive bureaucracy is significantly hindering managerial effectiveness. Approximately 70% of managers report that administrative tasks distract them from their core responsibilities, with nearly half spending over five hours per week on non-essential administration. This inefficiency has direct consequences for talent retention: 67% of surveyed managers have considered changing jobs due to chaotic or overly complex processes, and 22% have already left their positions for this reason.
In response to organizational needs and sudden leadership gaps, companies are increasingly turning to interim management. For instance, Exide Technologies has utilized external expertise following successful health and safety projects. Similarly, Legrand Polska engaged Redegate to provide interim leadership for its supply chain area during a warehouse management system transition. These external experts take responsibility for operational decisions, inventory planning, and change management to ensure continuity when internal recruitment is ongoing or specific expertise is lacking.
