Managua and Limón wrap up municipal clean-up campaigns

The Managua municipal government concluded its "Juga limpio… hace de tu barrio cancha" campaign, mobilising volunteers from more than 21 neighbourhoods to clear illegal dumping sites and restore public spaces. Participants received World Cup postcards as recognition, and Vice Mayor Enrique Armas highlighted plans for further clean‑up actions later in the year.

In Limón, Costa Rica, the municipal sanitation unit conducted an intensive clean‑up operation after the city’s 134th‑anniversary celebrations. Workers cleared streets, the parade route and Parque Vargas of debris, restoring order and ensuring safe transit for residents.

Both initiatives illustrate local authorities’ efforts to engage communities in maintaining cleaner public environments following major public events.
