Managua completes third stage of drainage project at Huembes Market

The Managua Mayor's Office, through COMMEMA, has inaugurated the third stage of a storm drainage project at the Carlos Roberto Huembes Market. The works focused on the northern sector of the central nave, involving the rehabilitation of 100 linear meters of reinforced concrete gutters equipped with high-resistance metal covers.

In addition to the drainage system, the project included repairs to sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, as well as painting to improve the urban image and pedestrian transit. The intervention aims to reduce flooding points and improve safety, circulation, and sanitation for more than 335 stakeholders, including merchants, workers, and visitors.

Mayor Reyna Rueda announced that a fourth stage of the project is planned for next year as part of an ongoing investment plan to improve the market's infrastructure and support local artisans and entrepreneurs.
