Managua Nicaragua Temple opens for public tours

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has opened the Managua Nicaragua Temple for public tours. This marks the first temple built for the Church within the country. Following media tours and invited-guest visits, a public open house is scheduled to run from September 10 through September 26, excluding Sundays.

The 24,500-square-foot structure is situated on an 8.9-acre site and features cream-colored Fatima limestone. The interior design incorporates regional elements, including colors inspired by traditional handcrafted textiles and motifs of the sacuanjoche, Nicaragua’s national flower.

The temple is scheduled to be dedicated on October 18 by Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. This dedication will coincide with the dedication of the Montpelier Idaho Temple, making them the Church’s 225th and 226th temples respectively.
