Managua students celebrate Fiestas Patrias with parades and cultural dances

Nicaragua is celebrating its Fiestas Patrias with various student-led cultural activities and parades in Managua.

In District VII, 100 students from the Instituto Miguel Bonilla prepared a special performance titled ‘Raíces del Caribe’. The choreography honors the Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast by incorporating Miskitu Indian music, Garífuna percussion, and popular pieces such as ‘Tululu’ and ‘Mayaya’.

In District VI, students from 15 different schools held a patriotic parade through the Unidad de Propósito neighborhood. The event involved more than one thousand participants, including students, teachers, parents, and community members, supported by the National Police to ensure order.
