Manaus becomes strategic hub for premium fuel and energy transition

The mobility landscape in Manaus is diversifying as the region integrates electric and hybrid models alongside traditional fuels. Vibra has begun regular distribution of Petrobras Podium premium gasoline through its Manaus base (BAMAN), aiming to serve the Northern states. This move makes Vibra the first distributor to offer premium gasoline in all Brazilian states, utilizing Manaus as a strategic regional hub for high-performance fuels with a minimum RON 102 octane rating.

Parallel to the expansion of fuel types, the automotive industry is seeing a rise in Extended-Range Electric Vehicles (EREV). This technology addresses range anxiety by using a small gasoline engine as an integrated generator to recharge the battery while driving. Unlike traditional hybrids, the gasoline engine in an EREV is not mechanically connected to the wheels; instead, it provides electricity to power the electric motors, offering a middle ground in the transition toward full electrification.
