Manaus’ Cia Arfact earns third place at Joinville International Dance Festival

The Amazonas‑based dance company Cia Arfact performed the choreography “Boi de Rua, Meu Caprichoso!”, celebrating the champion Boi Caprichoso of the 2026 Parintins Festival. The group placed third in the Senior Brazilian Popular Dances category at the 43rd Festival de Dança de Joinville, the largest dance festival in Latin America, held at the Centreventos Cau Hansen in Joinville, Santa Catarina.

Artistic direction was led by Brunno Athayde with co‑choreographers Natasha Oliveira and Eliseu Corrêa, and the Tripa Oficial Alexandre Azevedo joined the performance. The festival attracted about 400,000 spectators over 13 days. In addition to competing, Athayde and Isabely Santos conducted workshops on boi‑bumbá, teaching the cultural history and toadas of the Caprichoso to participants from across Brazil.
