Manaus City Council advances SOS Mulher app proposal

The Manaus City Council (CMM) has advanced several legislative proposals during its ordinary session on August 26. Most notably, Bill No. 077/2025, authored by Councilman Rodrigo Sá Barbosa, passed its first discussion. This bill proposes the creation of the ‘SOS Mulher’ application, designed to assist women facing threatening situations.

Other legislative developments include Bill No. 560/2025, which seeks to establish differentiated parking tariffs for motorcycles in private establishments, capping the cost at a maximum of 50% of the standard passenger car rate. Additionally, a complementary bill aims to allow the use of trained dogs by the Manaus Municipal Guard and establish a dedicated kennel. In the health sector, a proposal for the Municipal Integral Care Program for People with Asthma (PMAIPA) also received a favorable opinion to support early diagnosis and continuous treatment.
