Manaus expands transit station upgrades and road revitalization projects

The Manaus City Hall, through the Municipal Institute of Urban Mobility (IMMU), completed a series of upgrades at the Parque das Nações transit station on July 29. The work replaced benches, refreshed horizontal signage and pedestrian markings, repaired elevators and fully renovated the access walkway, aiming to improve comfort, safety and accessibility for public‑transport users.

In parallel, the municipality accelerated reconstruction of the lower passage between Constantino Nery and Theomário Pinto avenues in the Chapada neighbourhood, reaching about 60% completion. Night‑time work includes concrete cleaning, painting, new graffiti panels, upgraded drainage, LED lighting and enhanced road signage. Additional revitalization efforts target the Miguel Arraes and Dom Jackson Damasceno viaducts, as well as several other overpasses and central medians across the city, with landscaping and structural improvements planned.
