Manaus health system stays open during June 29 optional holiday for World Cup match

The Amazonas State Health Secretariat announced that on Monday 29 June, a point facultativo declared for Brazil’s World Cup match against Japan, all emergency and urgent‑care units in Manaus will continue to operate normally. The capital’s three adult and three pediatric emergency rooms, nine rapid care centers, two urgent‑care units, seven maternity hospitals and the state mental‑health center will remain on 24‑hour duty. Telemedicine via the Saúde AM Digital app will also provide 24‑hour general‑practice consultations for non‑severe cases.

Separately, the municipal calendar shows no official holidays or optional days planned for July 2026 in Manaus. Should the national team reach the semi‑finals on 15 July, local authorities may consider special schedules or another point facultativo, but no such days are currently scheduled.
