Manaus hosts pop culture convention and international Jiu-Jitsu tournament

Manaus is hosting two major events on September 19 and 20. The first is the inaugural CABOCON XP at the Teatro Gebes Medeiros, a pop culture convention expected to attract over 5,000 visitors. The event focuses on geek culture, gaming, cinema, and technology, featuring cosplay contests, eSports arenas, and workshops. Notable participants include influencer Robetuz and world-record GTA San Andreas speedrunner Batzera.

Simultaneously, the Manaus International Open will take place at the Arena Amadeu Teixeira. This Jiu-Jitsu competition, sanctioned by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), has over 1,000 athletes registered. The tournament provides opportunities for regional athletes to earn points toward the IBJJF World Championship in the United States while avoiding the high costs of international travel.
