Manaus hosts Rock Official 26th anniversary and Virada Sustentável festival

The Rock Oficial Manaus celebration marked its 26th anniversary on July 12, 2026, with 15 local bands and several DJs performing free of charge in Praça do Congresso, downtown Manaus. Organized by the Comissão do Rock and cultural producer James Monteiro, the event showcased a mix of Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Post‑Punk, Grunge, Gothic Rock and Brazilian rock, aiming to strengthen the Amazonian independent music scene.

Two days later, on July 14, the 12th edition of Virada Sustentável Manaus opened at the Teatro Amazonas with a free concert by the Amazonas Band. The sustainability festival, coordinated by the Fundação Amazônia Sustentável and the nonprofit Benevolência, combined music, debates, workshops, community actions and cultural activities across the city, emphasizing the role of culture in promoting environmental awareness.

Both events attracted hundreds of attendees and highlighted the growing cultural dynamism in Brazil’s capital of the Amazonas state.
