Manaus launches Encontro das Águas 2026 cultural series

The Encontro das Águas 2026 series opened on Tuesday, 15 July, at the historic Teatro Amazonas in Manaus and will run through 26 July. The week‑long programme features seven new productions that fuse orchestral music with pop, rock, dance and film scores.

Highlights include "BPM" with pop and funk songs, a rendition of Tchaikovsky’s "The Sleeping Beauty" by the Amazonas Philharmonic and local ballet, "The Blue World" presenting orchestral versions of themes from Star Wars, Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, and a rock‑focused "Symphony of Chaos II – Adagio". The series also offers a tribute to Madonna and Michael Jackson, as well as a Hans Zimmer tribute covering music from The Lion King, Interstellar and other films. Tickets are sold at the theatre box office and via the Shop Ingressos website.
