Manaus launches second edition of Arte no Busão bus art project

The Arte no Busão program in Manaus has opened its application window for the second edition, running from 27 July to 30 September 2026. The theme "Entre Rios e Rotas" invites Amazonian artists to submit digital proposals for ten artworks that will be printed on the exteriors of ten city buses. Selected works will travel through various neighbourhoods for at least 30 days, reaching thousands of daily commuters.

Project coordinator Sarah Campelo said the initiative aims to bring contemporary art into everyday public spaces and expand free, inclusive cultural access. Each chosen artist will receive a remuneration of R$800, and the exhibition is slated to begin in November 2026, continuing through December.
