Manaus launches Setembro Verde campaign for disability inclusion

The 'Setembro Verde' (Green September) campaign has launched in Manaus, Brazil, focusing on the rights, inclusion, and social participation of people with disabilities. The opening event, held at Largo de São Sebastião, brought together families, associations, and institutions to advocate for accessibility and combat ableism.

Thaisa Cidade, honorary president of the Social Promotion and Poverty Eradication Fund (FPS), emphasized the importance of making public and cultural spaces, such as the Teatro Amazonas, more accessible. She highlighted state initiatives like CAICs TEA and Juventude TEA as part of the government's commitment to the cause.

In a related effort toward autism awareness and inclusion, the INCC Kids ministry held an event titled 'Autismo, Inclusão e Cuidado' (Autism, Inclusion, and Care). The gathering aimed to empower families and professionals through expert guidance and supported ANA Brasil through solidarity contributions.
