Manaus legislative bodies approve new social and economic initiatives

The Manaus Municipal Chamber (CMM) has approved Bill No. 741/2026, authored by Councilman Jander Lobato. The law mandates that up to 5% of job vacancies in public contracts for continuous services with exclusive labor dedication must be reserved for graduates of municipal socio-educational programs. This measure aims to provide professional experience to young individuals who often face barriers to entry in the job market.

In the state legislature, the Amazonas Legislative Assembly (Aleam) approved Bill No. 28/2026, proposed by President Adjuto Afonso. The project establishes the State Network of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (REEI/AM), which will create free coworking spaces in underutilized state-owned properties. These spaces will be managed through partnerships between the public sector and private entities to foster entrepreneurship and innovation across the state.

Additionally, the Aleam concluded the ‘Cidadão de Berço’ project, an educational initiative by the Legislative School. The program, held in partnership with the State Secretariat of Education and Sports (Seduc-AM), teaches primary school students about the functions of the Legislative Power and the importance of citizenship.
