Manaus municipal government conducts infrastructure and flood prevention works

The Manaus City Hall, through the Municipal Infrastructure Secretariat (Seminf), has intensified several urban maintenance and prevention projects across the city.

In the Cidade de Deus neighborhood, teams are performing dredging operations in the Dom Bosco street stream. This work involves removing accumulated waste—including tires, mattresses, and electronic equipment—to improve water flow and mitigate flooding risks ahead of the heavy rainy season. Infrastructure Secretary Madson Rodrigues emphasized that while these actions are vital for resident safety, public cooperation in preventing illegal waste disposal is necessary.

Simultaneously, modernization efforts are underway at the Professora Lilá Borges de Sá viaduct, located between Djalma Batista and Darcy Vargas avenues. The project includes structural repairs, such as replacing expansion joints and fixing fissures, alongside upgrades to lighting and road signaling to improve safety for drivers and pedestrians. The revitalization also features an artistic component, using graffiti to depict Amazonian cultural elements, such as a canoeist, to promote regional identity.
