Manaus student reports lack of roof at temporary school facility
A student from Colégio Amazonense Dom Pedro II has called for urgent repairs to the school's temporary facilities in Manaus. During a campaign walk by federal deputy candidate Drª Aryel Almeida, a 17-year-old student reported that the building currently housing approximately 1,200 students lacks a roof.
The school is temporarily operating out of a building on Avenida Leonardo Malcher in central Manaus while its historic headquarters on Avenida Sete de Setembro undergoes renovations. The student described the current conditions as precarious, prompting Almeida to criticize the state of public education in Amazonas, noting that the state currently ranks last in the country for youth performance on the Enem exam.
