Manaus to open first stage of Passarão road complex

The city of Manaus is set to release the first stage of the Passarão road complex on Thursday, September 17. This stage includes a ramp connecting the Ponta Negra area to the São Jorge neighborhood via Avenida Coronel Teixeira in the West Zone.

Mayor Renato Junior stated that the project was accelerated to avoid weather delays. The completion of this initial phase is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion, potentially cutting peak-hour wait times from over an hour to approximately 30 minutes. The overall project has reached 49% execution.

Following the completion of paving with 460 tons of asphalt, the Municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seminf) has moved into the signaling phase. Work on horizontal signaling, including edge lines and flow guidance, was conducted overnight to minimize traffic disruption. The Municipal Institute of Urban Mobility (IMMU) is overseeing traffic organization during these final preparations.
