Manaus: Two men shot dead inside vehicle at gas station

Two men were shot and killed inside a vehicle at a gas station in the North Zone of Manaus during the early hours of Sunday. The victims were traveling in a silver Honda City on Avenida Max Teixeira in the Colônia Santo Antônio neighborhood when two individuals on a motorcycle approached and opened fire.

One of the deceased was identified as 34-year-old José Wilknson Cunha da Silva, who was wearing an electronic ankle monitor and was in the driver's seat. The second victim, a passenger, has not yet been identified. Following the shooting, the driver attempted to flee the scene but lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a power pole.

Police and emergency teams arrived to find both men dead. Forensic investigators found multiple gunshot wounds to the head, chest, and back, and recovered 14 .40 caliber shell casings at the scene. The Specialized Homicide and Kidnapping Police Station (DEHS) is investigating the case.
