Manaus municipality advances elderly oral health, terminal sanitation and anti‑violence campaign

The Manaus City Health Department joined a national workshop on oral health for the elderly in Recife, presenting its 2018 protocol for senior dental care and contributing to the draft of new guidelines for Brazil's "Brasil Sorridente" program.

On June 22 the municipal cleaning agency carried out capoeira and waste removal at Terminal Integration 5 (T5) in the city's east zone to improve sanitation and reduce disease risk for commuters and staff.

The following day, the city's Foundation of Support to the Elderly organized a "June Violet" outreach at the same terminal, distributing information on elder abuse, rights under the Statute of the Elderly, and reporting channels to raise public awareness.
