Manav Suthar emerges as rising star in Indian Test cricket

Indian left-arm spinner Manav Suthar has drawn significant attention following a standout performance in Test cricket. After establishing himself in domestic cricket with Rajasthan, the 22-year-old made a major impact during his international debut, notably claiming a 10-wicket haul in Galle during a match against Sri Lanka.

Suthar has taken 17 wickets in his first two Test matches. His rapid rise has led international peers to praise his potential. South African spinner Keshav Maharaj described him as a “real gem” and noted his control and subtle variations, suggesting he could eventually succeed established Indian spin legends. Sri Lankan bowler Prabath Jayasuriya also remarked that Suthar has the potential to become “one of the best bowlers in the world” if he maintains his consistency and commitment to the process.
