Manav Suthar matches historic first-class cricket record

Indian left-arm spinner Manav Suthar has achieved a rare milestone in first-class cricket history while playing for Warwickshire in a Division One County Championship match against Glamorgan. Suthar took wickets across both innings without conceding a single run, a feat matched only once before in the history of the sport.

The record was previously held by England’s Tom Hayward, who achieved an identical outcome for Leicestershire against Surrey in 1895. During the match at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, Suthar’s performance included a decisive first-innings wicket and a second-innings spell where he claimed two wickets in four deliveries. All of his wickets during the match were bowled dismissals.

This performance follows a breakout season for the spinner, who has also seen success on the international stage for India. Suthar recently recorded seven wickets in a match against Afghanistan and took 16 wickets during a two-Test series against Sri Lanka.
