Manavgat entrepreneur develops tropical fruit museum and agritourism site
In the Manavgat district of Antalya, Şevkiye Durgun has transformed a passion for agriculture into a unique tropical fruit museum and tourism destination. What began ten years ago as a small-scale effort to grow seedlings from seeds on her home terrace has expanded into a 6-acre facility in the Yukarı Işıklar neighborhood.
Durgun utilizes 3 acres of enclosed space to organically cultivate over one hundred varieties of tropical fruits. The site functions as both a production facility and a tourist attraction, featuring a cafe, restaurant, bungalow houses, a swimming pool, and wellness facilities including a sauna and massage salon.
Visitors can tour the production area to observe the exotic trees and sample various products. The harvested fruits are processed on-site into items such as fruit platters, juices, ice cream, desserts, salads, and herbal teas. Additionally, the facility produces natural oils through cold pressing for use in its massage services.
