Manavgat gendarmerie apprehend Romanian tourists for shoplifting
Two Romanian tourists were apprehended by gendarmerie teams in the Manavgat district of Antalya after stealing sweatpants from a clothing boutique. The incident occurred on Tourism Street in the Kızılağaç neighborhood.
According to security footage, one of the women selected a pair of sweatpants and walked away, while her companion used a baby stroller containing a young child to hide the stolen item. The shop owner, Ali Önder Şit, reported the theft to the Manavgat District Gendarmerie Command after noticing the missing merchandise.
Investigators identified the suspects by observing the hotel wristbands worn by the women in the surveillance video. The Romanian nationals, identified as C. D. and N. M. D., were located and caught at their hotel with the stolen goods. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them.
