Manavgat shuttle bus driver attacked over emergency lane dispute
Three individuals, including one woman, attacked a shuttle bus driver in the Manavgat district of Antalya. The incident took place at the Ilıca-Kumköy Junction on the D-400 highway.
The confrontation reportedly began when the driver of a light commercial vehicle attempted to use the emergency lane, but the shuttle bus driver did not allow them to pass. Following a verbal dispute, the occupants of the commercial vehicle exited their car during a traffic standstill caused by a red light. They proceeded to punch the bus's door and windows while shouting insults and threats at the driver.
The shuttle bus was carrying hotel employees at the time of the assault. The entire event was recorded on a mobile phone by another motorist. Local witnesses have expressed frustration over recurring traffic issues and the misuse of emergency lanes on this route, calling for urgent intervention from authorities.
