Manavgat Thursday market sees high tourist turnout amid rainy weather

Rainy weather in the Manavgat district of Antalya has driven a significant surge of tourists to the local Thursday market, marking one of the busiest days of the season. Travelers staying in nearby hotel regions, including Side, Çolaklı, Kumköy, Evrenseki, Gündoğdu, Kızılağaç, and Kızılot, utilized the inclement weather to visit the city center for shopping.

The increased foot traffic provided a boost to vendors selling clothing, local products, and fresh food. Mehmet Doğan, President of the Manavgat Market Vendors Association, noted that while the overall tourism season has been difficult for local tradespeople, such high-volume days are essential for economic relief. He expressed hope that similar levels of activity continue through the final two months of the season to help offset previous losses.
